Day 1: Arrival in Cochin
Upon your arrival at Cochin Airport or Ernakulam Railway Station, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Spend the afternoon exploring the vibrant city of Cochin, known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea. This city boasts one of the finest natural harbors in the world and has a rich history as a major trading hub for the British, Chinese, Portuguese, and Dutch. Key attractions include the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Jewish Street, St. Francis Church, and the iconic Chinese Fishing Nets. Enjoy an overnight stay in Cochin.
Day 2: Cochin to Munnar
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and embark on a scenic drive to Munnar (approximately 4 hours). Nestled at an altitude of 1,600 meters above sea level, Munnar is formed by the confluence of three mountain streams: Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundale. This picturesque hill station was once a favored summer retreat for the British government in South India. Along the way, take in the beauty of waterfalls and stunning landscapes. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. Visit the Tea Museum to learn about the history and evolution of tea plantations in Munnar (entry fee: ₹125 per adult, open until 5 PM). If you appreciate flora, consider visiting the Floriculture Centre, also known as the Rose Garden, which features over a hundred varieties of flowers and herbal plants (open from 10 AM to 5 PM, entry fee: ₹30 per person). Day 3: Munnar Local Sightseeing
After breakfast, spend the day exploring the local attractions of Munnar. Visit Mattupetty Dam, Kundale Lake, and Echo Point, all situated at the confluence of the three mountain streams. In the afternoon, head to Rajamalai, where you may spot the rare Nilgiri Tahr, a species of mountain goat unique to this region. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Munnar.
Day 4: Munnar to Alleppey
After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Munnar and drive to Alleppey (approximately 172 km, around 4 hours and 50 minutes). Upon arrival, board a traditionally decorated houseboat for an enchanting overnight backwater cruise. Check-in time is at 1:00 PM, and the cruise will commence with lunch. As you glide through the serene backwaters, enjoy views of Chinese fishing nets, lush paddy fields, local artisans crafting coir products, rustic homes, ancient temples, and swaying coconut groves. Dinner will be served onboard, and you will spend the night on the houseboat.
Day 5: Departure from Alleppey to Cochin
